Statement of Commitment to Equality and Diversity
Oswego Presbyterian Church is a diverse group of men, women and children committed to faithfully serving and following the Word of God in the Fox River Valley. Recognizing that justice, equality, and hope are an inherent part of our faith, we acknowledge that ours is called to be an active faith, reaching out into our own community and beyond. During this time of uncertainty, we strive to hear and support the voices of our black brothers and sisters who feel the pain of inequity, who remind us that we have not always listened, and whose stories force us to recognize that, “When one suffers, all suffer with them.” At the same time, we also value the men and women of all races and ethnicities who struggle with similar issues of acceptance and fairness. Knowing that a part of our call as Presbyterians is to seek reconciliation of the world, we commit ourselves to these issues of faith and life and look forward to the day when we can fully celebrate the diversity that is the Body of Christ. All glory and honor be to God!
