Last month our congregation participated in an informal survey of our attitudes about the Covid19 virus and our feelings about reentering our building at the present time. The results were
interesting.
Response – 39% of those who received a survey responded to our questions.
Worship – Based on current conditions and the restrictions placed on group gatherings, would
you rather attend worship in-person or continue to watch online?
31% of our respondents expressed a desire to return to in-person worship now.
65% of our respondents expressed a desire to continue to participate in online worship.
Youth Christian Education – We asked parents if they were willing to send their children to more
traditional in-person youth classes or gatherings or if they would prefer to send their children to
online activities.
Almost equal numbers (15% and 16%) expressed a desire to allow their children to
participate in person or online.
Adult Christian Education – We asked adults which form of Christian education they preferred at
this time.
19% expressed a desire to attend classes in person.
30% would rather participate in education or Bible Study online.
Attitudes – We asked our members how they felt about the Covid-19 situation and their safety in
general.
84% said that they were either concerned or very concerned.
7% said that they were either neutral or positive about the situation.
Thanks to those of you who took the time to complete the survey. The Covid-19 Task Force and
the Session will use this information as they continue to consider the best path forward for our
church’s life and worship in the midst of this pandemic.
