The Chancel Choir, under the direction of Kim Moorman, provides meaningful music selections to enhance the worship service. To that end, the Chancel Choir works to develop the skills necessary to perform the music but also to nurture the spiritual and social life of the choir and of the individual members. The choir is open to adults and high-school age teens who have a love for singing and praising God in song.
In addition to the normal worship service music, the choir has prepared and performed several special (and challenging) programs including the "Requiem" by John Rutter and choruses from Handel's "Messiah". We have also participated in the choir gathering for the community Thanksgiving Eve services.
Individual members are occasionally asked to sing a solo or in a small ensemble either alone or with the choir.
Choir rehearsals are held Wednesday evenings at 7:30pm and Sunday mornings at 9:00. Singers should attend at least one of the two rehearsals offered each week.
