This event is a fundraiser for youth programs at the Oswego Presbyterian Church.
Each year we take high school age youth on a mission trip helping to rebuild communities in need. In 2014 we journeyed to Loveland, Colorado to help flood victims rebuild their homes, clean out basements, rebuild community parks and bring light to the faces of many effected by the floods. 2015 took us to Accident, Maryland. There we helped to repair homes of the elderly by repainting the exteriors, building wheel chair ramps, fixing and building decks, some lost in a tornado from several years ago. This last summer we went to Herman, MN. This trip is open to the community anyone of high school age may come on these trips.
In addition to the mission trips we take a group of students from 4th through 12th grade to Green Lake Wisconsin. They attend the Fellowship of American Baptist Musicians summer music conference where they are instructed by world renowned choral, orchestral, and hand bell directors and composers. Multiple rehearsals each day culminate at the end of the week with a spirit filled concert from each of the groups. The youth learn improved techniques for their singing and playing, but more importantly, they discover how to lead in worship and grow in their own faith journeys. Upon our return, we share the music and our faith with the congregation at OPC.
